The UCLA College Bowl Club is pleased to announce TWAIN VII: We Got a
Gnome! We Got a Gnome!

DATE: Saturday, October 7th, 2006.

PARKING: Parking is $8 (I think it went up $1) at various lots throughout 
the UCLA campus.  

LOCATION: The Event will be held on UCLA's campus, presumably in Bunche
Hall, the site of previous events at UCLA.  An official meeting room will 
be announced once we begin fall quarter.

TIME SCHEDULE:  
8:45 am Registration
9:10 am Rules Meeting
9:30 am First Round
 
FOOD: 
It is recommended that each team member bring at least $7 for lunch on
campus (Ackerman Union, Northern Lights, etc.).Eateries on campus include 
Panda Express, Sbarro, Rubio's, and others.

copies of this map to bring with you to the tournament.

ELIGIBILITY:  Anyone who pays the entrance fee (or gets a club to do that 
for them) is eligible to play in this tournament, regardless of any
current or former student status.

FORMAT: The college division of TWAIN will be a mirror of the Early Fall
Tournament set written by former West Coast players Seth Teitler and
Jerry Vinokurov, as well as Ryan Westbrook and "possibly some other
people".  The difficulty level of this tournament is designed to be at
roughly the ACF Fall level.  Please see

PRICING STRUCTURE:
Base fee = $80 per team
-$5 for a pre-approved moderator or fully-functional buzzer system (Must
have four working buzzers on both sides) (Limit 2 buzzers per team)
-$10(n-1) multiple team discount, where n is the number of teams from
your school, for all n (-$10 second team, -$20 third team, etc.)
-$20 New School Discount (must not have played in a mACF-style event
since 2004-2005 or before)
Minimum fee = $40

Checks should be made out to "College Bowl Club of UCLA".  If you wish to 
mail your check before the tournament, please e-mail me at
dpwynne@ucla.edu and I will let you know of an address to sent it.

REGISTRATION:
The Tournament Director for TWAIN VII is Dwight Wynne. The tournament cap 
for the college division will be initially set at 16 teams. We do not
anticipate the cap being reached, and the high school division is on
Sunday, but should additional teams show interest we will endeavor to
raise the cap.
