The UCLA College Bowl Club is pleased to announce TWAIN VII: We Got a
Gnome! We Got a Gnome!

DATE: Sunday, October 8th, 2006.

PARKING: Parking is $8 (I think it went up $1) at various lots throughout 
the UCLA campus.  

LOCATION: The Event will be held on UCLA's campus, presumably in Bunche
Hall, the site of previous events at UCLA.  An official meeting room will 
be announced once we begin fall quarter.

TIME SCHEDULE:  
8:45 am Registration
9:10 am Rules Meeting
9:30 am First Round

Teams not showing up by 9:20 a.m. will risk forfeiture of their spot, and 
any team on the waiting list will be granted entry. Traffic on the 405
freeway can be heavy in the morning, so please allow some extra time for
commute.

FOOD: 
It is recommended that each team member bring at least $7 for lunch on
campus (Ackerman Union, Northern Lights, etc.). Eateries on campus
include Panda Express, Sbarro, Rubio's, and others.
A map of UCLA is available at http://www.ucla.edu/map. Please print out
copies of this map to bring with you to the tournament.

ELIGIBILITY:  All high school students are eligible to play in TWAIN VII.

FORMAT: We will be using NAQT Invitational Set IS-60. The format will be
official NAQT, untimed rounds, consisting of 21 toss-ups per round. If
you have any specific questions, please e-mail us before the tournament
so we can make sure we give all teams the correct information.

PRICING STRUCTURE:
Base fee = $100 per team
-$10 for a pre-approved moderator
-$5 for a fully-functional buzzer system (Must have four working buzzers
on both sides)
-$10(n-1) multiple team discount, where n is the number of teams from
your school
Minimum fee = $60

Example: A school brings three teams and a buzzer.  The school would pay
$265 ($300 for three teams, -$10 for the second team, -$20 for the third
team, -$5 for the buzzer).

Late Withdrawal Penalty: Any team withdrawing after October 1st may be
subject to a $10 late withdrawal penalty on a future event held by the
UCLA College Bowl Club.

Checks should be made out to "College Bowl Club of UCLA".  If you wish to 
mail your check before the tournament, please e-mail me at
dpwynne@ucla.edu and I will let you know of an address to sent it.

REGISTRATION:
The Tournament Director for TWAIN VII is Dwight Wynne. The tournament cap 
will be initially set at 16 teams. We will raise this limit if space
becomes available.

1) Your school's name
2) Coach (or representative) name and e-mail address
3) The number of teams you are bringing
4) The number of buzzer systems and/or moderators you would like to bring
