Players and Coaches,

The UCLA College Bowl Club is pleased to announce TWAIN VIII: The Reunion.
All former and current players of the UCLA College Bowl Club are warmly invited
to help out with this event. 

DATE: Sunday, October 7th, 2007 (For High Schools only). 

PARKING: Parking is $8 at various lots throughout the UCLA campus. 

LOCATION: The event will be held on UCLA's campus, likely in Bunche Hall, the
site of previous events at UCLA. An official meeting room will be announced once
we begin fall quarter. 

TIME SCHEDULE: 
8:45 am Registration – Exact location TBA. 
9:10 am Rules Meeting 
9:30 am First Round 

FOOD: 

Breakfast – Some combination of bagels/doughnuts/OJ will be served. 

Lunch – It is recommended that each team member bring at least $8 for lunch on
campus (Ackerman Union, Northern Lights, etc.). Eateries on campus include Panda
Express, Sbarro, Rubio's, and others. A map of UCLA is available at
http://www.ucla.edu/map. Please print out copies of this map to bring with you
to the tournament. 

ELIGIBILITY: All high school students are eligible to play in TWAIN VIII. 

FORMAT: We will be using NAQT Invitational Set IS-68. The format will be official
NAQT, untimed rounds, consisting of 21 toss-ups per round. If you have any specific
questions, please e-mail us before the tournament so we can make sure we give all
teams the correct information. 

PRICING STRUCTURE: 
Base fee = $100 per team 
-$5 for a pre-approved moderator or fully-functional buzzer system (Must have four
working buzzers on both sides) (Limit 2 buzzers per team) 
-$10(n-1) multiple team discount, where n is the number of teams from your school,
for all n (-$10 second team, -$20 third team, etc.) 
-$20 New School Discount (must not have played in a mACF-style event since 2004-2005
or before) 
Minimum fee = $70 
**There is a $20 penalty for not having payment by the day of the tournament. 


Checks should be made out to "College Bowl Club of UCLA." If you wish to mail your
check before the tournament, please e-mail me at raviucla@ucla.edu and I will let you
know of an address to send it to. 


REGISTRATION: 
The Tournament Directors for TWAIN VIII: The Reunion are Ravi Menghani and Daniel
Nuyujukian. The tournament cap will be initially set at 16 teams. Should additional
teams show interest we will endeavor to raise the cap.

1) Your school's name 
2) Coach (or representative) name and e-mail address 
3) The number of teams you are bringing 
4) The number of buzzer systems and/or moderators you would like to bring, and any
other discounts you wish to claim
